Beschreibung:
This course deals with resource consumption and environmental impacts of urban life and work, as well as instruments to increase resource efficiency and environmental health (esp. as they are available to the urban planner). It also addresses socioeconomic aspects like environmental justice and supply chain management.
We will reflect the concept of "sustainability" from different disciplinary perspectives, then a number of internal and external experts will present different aspects of the "sustainability" theme which complement what is offered in the Urban Planning Bachelor programme (e. g. air quality, environmental justice, management of Urban Green, resource saving management of construction materials). These topics change somewhat from year to year, as do the external experts.
We are using the electronic Moodle platform. If you have never been in the HCU-Moodle, go there with your HCU-ID (h??xxx) and the associated password so that the system knows you. https://moodle.hcu-hamburg.de
This course will be held in German and English. Some dates will be in German (in particular when we have external experts as guest speakers), but the majority of the dates will be in English. The grading requirement (a test at the end of the lecture time) may be written in German or in English.
