DENSITY
Density is among the goals for more sustainable city developments. At the same time, density is often associated with narrow dark urban spaces and a lack of depth and view. In this context, the course will be investigating spatial qualities and potentials of density. In order to develop proposals for density as an exciting spatial phenomenon, we will operate in a virtual laboratory free from technical and programmatic boundaries. It is a hands-on modeling course, structured in a series of consecutive experimental studies. Input and references will stem from movie sets, urban utopia, but also from current research from the psychology of perception and aesthetics.
The course will be taught digitally only via video conferencing. Teaching language will be English. Modeling will be digital and presentations will use 3D virtual meeting spaces.
