Beschreibung:
Almost every event - whether a multi-day festival, the creative conversion of an existing building or a movie night - is embedded in a cultural-political context, needs to implement financial resources and the knowledge of when to do what. For the realisation of cultural projects, project management skills are essential. Project planning and design, press work and public relations, marketing, evaluation and acquisition of funds are essential instruments of cultural project management. They will be presented and practically tested in the seminar: After a theoretical introduction to the most important terms and tools of cultural project management and an overview of cultural policy and funding structures, the project management tools will be used, presented and discussed using the example of the student’s own projects. The aim of the course is to convey the basics of project management, press and public relations, cultural marketing, evaluation and fundraising and to make it applicable for own projects as well as to get an overview of funding structures and current cultural policy debates.
