Beschreibung: We analyze the work of the Munich architect Hans Döllgast (1891-1974) on the basis of selected buildings. During reconstruction after 1945, the architect Döllgast visibly left the traces of war and destruction visible in an unmistakable manner. It puts him in the forefront of German architects of the post-war period in Germany. What made these significant achievements should be analyzed and considered in this seminar. The clarity of his architectural answers is more relevant today than ever, yet his oeuvre has so far been hardly appreciated by architectural history. The analysis of Döllgasts buildings is based on unpublished original archives and the visit of his most important buildings in Munich and Bavaria. During this excursion, especially the photographic documentation and the composition of an architectural photo series will be practiced.
