Beschreibung:
This course offers an in-depth exploration into oceanographic data processing using Python. It contains an introduction to Python's scientific modules, delving into variables and types, operators and comparisons, compound types, control flow, loops, functions, classes, modules, and exceptions. A significant focus is given to organizing data in multidimensional numpy arrays, including functions for extracting arrays, linear algebra, reshaping, resizing, and stacking arrays.
The course then advances to scientific algorithms and their applications, covering topics like Fourier transformation, optimization, interpolation, and statistics. One of the key highlights is the visualization, plotting, and organization of data, emphasizing the creation and access of array-oriented scientific data and services.
A special focus is given to Ekman Dynamics and variability on different timescales, with a particular emphasis on interannual variabilities akin to phenomena like ENSO.
